We’ve just returned from a fantastic visit to RNLI Hastings, where we had the privilege of handing over a cheque from Hastings and District Canoe Club. The donation is our way of saying a massive "thank you" to this amazing team for keeping our waters safe!

The RNLI crew gave us a warm welcome and treated us to a guided tour of their station. A true highlight was stepping aboard their impressive Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat, the Richard and Caroline Colton. This extraordinary vessel was funded by the generous will donation from the sale of not one, but two vintage Ferraris! Talk about turning horsepower into lifeboat power!

We were also shown their vintage Cat bulldozer, which is regularly used to reshape the beach after the sea shifts the shingle, ensuring the lifeboat can be launched smoothly.

It was fascinating to learn about the lifeboat’s capabilities and the incredible dedication of the RNLI crew who operate it. The stories they shared left us in awe of their skill and commitment. Of course, no visit would be complete without enjoying some tea, snacks, and plenty of good festive cheer along the way, the sausage rolls were delicious Adey certainly thought so, as we left the building he still had a handful!
Our donation was received with genuine gratitude, and we left feeling inspired and proud to support such a vital organisation. Huge thanks to everyone who made this visit possible—it was an unforgettable experience!

Here’s to safe waters and more adventures ahead—cheers to RNLI Hastings!
