A big thank you to everyone who attended last night’s talk on communication at sea! Despite a brief moment of panic when the overhead projector refused to cooperate, Alan’s technical expertise soon had things running smoothly, and we were able to get into the presentation.

The choc chip biscuits were a definite hit, and the discussion was lively, with plenty of great questions from members. The clubhouse proved to be an excellent venue for this kind of dry training, with the AV setup helping to bring the session to life.

There was strong interest in future talks, with several members keen to know what’s coming next. Some great suggestions included:

• A session to practice first aid skills acquired from relevant courses
• A boat repair workshop
• Knot tying and ropework skills
• A talk from the RNLI or Coastguard
